J. Database Design

The Database Design course is designed to provide learners with a fundamental understanding of relational database design concepts and techniques. It begins with an introduction to terminology and basic concepts related to databases, relational database management systems (RDBMS), and the data lifecycle.

Students will learn how to identify and define the properties of entities and attributes, as well as how to create an Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) to model the relationships in the database.

Additionally, the course covers table design, key definitions, normalization, and managing data dependencies to ensure that database designs are complete and efficient. Learners will explore techniques for managing relationships between tables, working in the Third Normal Form (3NF), and adding additional properties to enable the database to support a wide range of applications effectively.
